Interview - Rachael Durham

Rachael Durham was born in Clinton, Mississippi and attended The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in sociology. After school she worked at a domestic violence shelter for awhile and then decided to go off on a weird tangent and get her masters at Arizona State.  She found she didn’t like the urban desert so moved to Pennsylvania to get her PhD in Sociology and Demography at Penn State.

While at Penn State, Rachael discovered Iyengar Yoga in the form of Dean Learner, an Intermediate Iyengar yoga teacher. Upon moving to Baltimore for her current job at Hopkins she found Syoga. Rachael is a student of Suzy’s in the Level 2/3 class on Thursdays.  As she puts it “I am gainfully employed and doing yoga, how lucky is that?”
